William M. Swoope letter to John T. Holman [manuscript], [1837?].

Swoope writes from the University of Virginia with news of his activities during vacation. He states that he has decided to pursue his studies with "greater diligence" than in the previous session; he is taking Gessner Harrison's courses and will probably take a diploma. Swoope considers coming back for one or two sessions to take a medical diploma and urges Holman to do likewise. He has been attended by Dr. Griffith during a recent illness. Swoope mentions that "Miss Lucy has got well again but has a very bad walk warbling along like a duck." He also mentions fellow student [Richard W.] Bushnell.
